TASbiller is being developed by Randy J. Ripkey, owner of Accurate Messages of Augusta, Georgia. Accurate Messages was acquired Randy in December of 1995. A failing business with 90 accounts, Randy has turned it into a successful 400 account TAS with 25 employees, and presently utilizing an 10 position Amtelco Infinity system.

Randy's background is in computer programming. Since 1980 Randy has written a variety of special purpose applications for companies ranging from small local business like TropiKist Fruit Products of West Palm Beach, Florida to national companies like Carlson Restaurants, the owners of TGI Friday's worldwide. Applications ranged from billing programs used by TropiKist to data translation programs used by TGI Friday's to upload payroll data to ADP for processing to sophisticated engineering applications written for a semiconductor company in West Palm Beach.

One of the challanges Randy had to overcome when he purchased Accurate Messages was pricing. Clearly the existing accounts weren't priced properly. Compounding the problem was the billing software the business had been using, it was difficult to use and didn't offer any customer profitability analysis. Randy decided to write his own billing program in early 1996.

After a few years of use, and having now developed a fairly nice TAS billing program, early in 2001 Randy decided to test the water by showing his program to a meeting of TAS owners at an STA (Southern Telemessaging Association) trade show in Atlanta. Even though initially designed to meet his own needs, and written in a DOS based language, TASbiller's early functionality was well received. However, everyone wanted a Windows based product, and Randy wanted to be able to market features that were not available on the DOS platform.

Development of the current Windows based product began in January of 2002, and the first TASbiller Windows Version (2.1) was introduced at the annual ATSI trade show in Denver, Colorado that June. Randy took the TASbiller project from the drawing board to the marketplace in less than 6 months. Simultaneously he entered into a marketing agreement with Chris Twigg, then owner of TASbill.com (invoice printing and mailing service). This arrangement has been mutually beneficial, as the two products work very well together.

Since then TASbiller has continued to grow in popularity, and program development continues as well. New features are constantly being added to meet the demands of our users. Over the past years of development, TASbiller now has features that exceed those of comparable products that have been in production for nearly a decade, at half the price. And there is more to come.

Meanwhile, Randy is now a requested speaker at regional trade and user group meetings, sharing his methodology of pricing and profitability analysis.
